   Capt. Mike is a prominent figure in the boating world, and he is very active in numerous marine related organizations.  Mike is on the forefront of boating activity as an active United States Coast Guard licensed Captain, an author of two books and a boating journalist.

 

Capt Mike continues to serve as Captain aboard numerous yachts, mega-yachts, and small ships cruising every harbor along the Pacific Coast from Ensenada to Canada and out to Hawaii on vessels up to 150 feet in length.

 

His TV show has aired on both the West and East Coast plus to the Hawaiian Islands.  Both the TV audience and the radio listeners enjoys his knowledgeable yet easy going manner of never speaking down to the novice yet still reaching the armchair experts.  His speaking style is what makes him a sought-after featured speaker at many events and emceeing at marine functions.

 

Capt. Mike has a weekly Boating & Harbor Column in the Daily Pilot Newspaper (community paper of the Los Angeles Times), a Boat Test writer for Sea Magazine, a monthly Sailing Cruising column in the Santana Magazine, and a monthly Nautical News column in the Newport Beach CC’s Lookout magazine.

 

Captain Chandler Bell

   Capt. Chandler is an active United States Coast Guard licensed Captain, and a professional sportfishing Captain.  Chandler Bell developed a professional attitude towards boating when at the age of 19 he was working as a Boat Operator for the Newport Beach Lifeguard Dept.

 

Since then he continues to operate a vast array of boats including fishing charters, whale watching, scuba trips, private yachts and yacht deliveries up and down the coasts of Washington, Oregon, Hawaii and California and further on down into the Mexican Riviera.

Matt  is currently enrolled at OCC and is looking to transfer to Chapman University in the fall. He currently works for the California State Parks as an ocean lifeguard during the summers, and he is looking to make a career in the broadcasting industry.

 

Throughout his life he has played water polo, swam on swim teams, and he is an avid Angels and Ducks fan.  Matt spends most of his time with his friends, studying, and he is always on the lookout for new and exciting news to share with the Boathouse Radio Show audience as the news reporter.
